Memories of Ichijodani Still Remain

Fukui City History Museum
Finished
The Asakura clan, a feudal lord of the Warring States period, flourished in Ichijodani, but was defeated in a battle with Nobunaga Oda and fell along with its castle town. However, temples and stores that have their roots in Ichijodani can still be seen in downtown Fukui today. This exhibition commemorates the 450th anniversary of the death of Yoshikage Asakura, the last head of the Echizen Asakura clan, and the traces of Ichijodani that remain in the city of Fukui.
