Masterpieces of Buddhist Statue in Nara - Pilgrimages to the Ancient Temples

Miho Museum
Finished
Hidden within the “GreatbRoutes of Nara and Yamato,” nurtured by nature’s gentle touch, are the enduring history and tales of this region. For over 1,400 years, this sacred land has seen the rise of numerous temples, which have handed down over generations of Buddhas radiating serene compassion.

This exhibition introduces Buddhist statues, paintings, and applied artworks from ancient temples, including Horyu-ji, Todai-ji, Yakushi-ji, Toshodai-ji, Daian-ji, and Saidai-ji, together with the photographs of Taikichi Irie, who loved Nara, and the words of literati who have been drawn to this timeless place.
