Masamune Jittetsu

The Japanese Sword Museum
Finished
Masamune, a renowned swordsmith in Kamakura during the late Kamakura Period, takes center stage in this exhibition. While there have been previous exhibitions focusing on Masamune, this particular showcase redirects its focus to Jittetsu, tracing the lineage of Soshu Den from the predecessors of the Soshu smiths to the master swordsmith Masamune. Masamune played a pivotal role in establishing Soshu Den, and the exhibition further explores the influence of Masamune's style on swordsmiths in various regions who inherited Masamune's style.
