Bookmarc, a bookstore owned by the New York-based fashion brand Marc Jacobs, will hold a solo exhibition of Marc Gonzalez, an artist and one of the most influential skateboarders in history, for the first time in two years, produced by The Last Gallery.
Artist Mark Gonzalez describes his inspiration for this exhibition as follows: "This solo show is a chance for me to showcase the work of one of the most influential skateboarders of all time. For this solo exhibition, I explored my own simple curves. I kept it as simple as possible with black paint on a natural linen canvas."
Gonzalez has been painting in New York and Maine for this exhibition, where he has been traveling, since last year. This is the first time that Gonzalez presents this body of work in Tokyo in which he has stripped away everything superfluous and broken new ground for himself.
