Mariko Kohga
Japanese fashion designer Mariko Koga has repeatedly said in past interviews, "Clothes for adult women."

She joined Nicole, founded by Mitsuhiro Matsuda in 1974, as an assistant designer, and after working as a designer in charge of brands, she became the chief designer of "Zelda" and "Mariko Kohga" and participated in the Tokyo Collections, contributing greatly to the heyday of Japanese designer brands.

The clothes she creates have a Western form that evokes haute couture but also combines decadent individuality, and many of her collections include costume jewelry that completes these styles.

With the full cooperation of Kohga, this exhibition will display her collections from the late 1980s to the 2000s, as well as brand catalogs, costume jewelry, and costumes worn by celebrities such as Fuyumi Sakamoto and Akina Nakamori, and the same models. In addition, there will be a corner where visitors can touch and feel the precious materials and fabrics that were actually used to create the collection, in order to gain a deeper appreciation of the works.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Mariko Kohga's career as a designer.
