Artists

Manabu Mabe
The Shiranuhi Art Museum & Library will host an exhibition featuring the works of Manabu Mabe, a renowned artist in their collection. In commemoration of his 100th birthday this year, approximately 50 pieces of Mabe's work will be displayed.

Based on Mabe's work and persona, the theme of this exhibition is "Color" and "Bridge," with the artist Rainbow Okayama transforming the exhibition rooms into seven colors inspired by Mabe's artwork. An installation symbolizing a "bridge" connecting Mabe and the visitors is one of the highlights.

During the exhibition period, workshops will be conducted, allowing visitors to participate continuously. As part of the Golden Week special program in May, events such as Samba dance and Bossa Nova concerts will be held to introduce visitors to Brazil, the land where Manabu Mabe grew up.
