Letters from a Sinking Ship - Exhibition of Discovered Blueprints from the Former Kagawa Prefectural Gymnasium

Takamatsu Orne
Finished
It was decided in 2023 that the former Kagawa Prefectural Gymnasium, affectionately known as the Kagawa Boat Gymnasium, would be demolished. That same year, structural drawings from the time of its design were newly discovered at the home of Tsuyoshi Okamoto, the gymnasium's structural designer. These newly found original drawings are invaluable resources that reflect the trial and error process leading to the building's completion and the passion of the people involved. This exhibition will showcase full-size replicas of the original design drawings (held by Muroran Institute of Technology) and structural drawings (held by Tokai University).
