Kota Nakamura
As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Nagi Museum of Contemporary Art, the exhibition "Bear Barely" will be held. The works created by artist Kota Nakamura incorporate elements such as corporeality, chance, and violence, which are inherent in our daily lives. These installations, built around this concept, combine tranquility with a sense of tension, subtly stirring the viewer's senses.

This exhibition is composed of the "Dream Series" and the "Gun Series." The "Dream Series," which expresses the boundary between reality and dreams, explores the floating sensation of reality and dreams merging as one falls asleep, and the mysterious feeling of the body becoming immobile at night. This ambiguous boundary is the central theme. In the "Gun Series," destruction is not merely seen as breaking or being broken, but also as bringing about captivating beauty. By shooting bullets into mirrored surfaces such as glass or brass plates to create holes and cracks, the space is transformed into a different phase, aiming to disrupt the viewer's consciousness. This exhibition, featuring minimalist and radical works, marks the first time Nakamura's new works will be showcased in Okayama Prefecture.
