Koichi Yairi is known for his production technique using a "collage of techniques" that employs painting and printing methods, utilizing canvases shaped in various forms, giving an expression that, while seemingly pop, exudes a sense of silence and delicacy. The unique exhibition method, weaving the entire exhibition space into one original story, constructed like progressing through a picture book, has garnered attention in the domestic and international art and culture scenes.
Following successful solo exhibitions in London, Seoul, Hong Kong, Fukuoka, and Tokyo, this exhibition marks a culmination for the artist and serves as a new frontier for expression. The exhibition space, divided into two parts, features canvas works playing the role of illustrations, exhibiting the artist's inspired stories derived from his life, in line with his previous style, expanding the images of the stories. In the other space, canvas works of a more complex and refined nature, exploring the potential of a production method using both printing and painting, will be showcased, offering a unique glimpse into Koichi Yairi's world that can only be experienced here.
