The Kinan Art Week Executive Committee is implementing this year's art project, "Mikan Collective," with the theme of citrus fruits, a local resource in the Kinan region of Wakayama Prefecture.

The overall theme of the exhibition is "Mikan Mandala. Together with contemporary artists, the exhibition will explore the junction between mandarins and other fields such as art, mythology, philosophy, anthropology, botany, and design, and create a new collective knowledge (mandala) that has a cosmic expansion, just as Kumagusu Minakata, a leading naturalist in Wakayama Prefecture, discovered in Kumano.

Each exhibition venue will have an exhibition theme and display curated works. In addition to new work by various artists, work by leading Asian artists from the Aura Foundation for the Promotion of Contemporary Arts collection will be invited.
