Kimitoshi Yamane
Kimitoshi Yamane (b. 1966) hails from Kawamoto Town in Shimane Prefecture. Influenced by the anime boom of the late 1970s to the 1980s, he moved to Tokyo, worked while graduating from a specialized animation school, and achieved his dream of becoming a mechanical designer by bringing his works to studios involved in anime production. Since 2000, he has been based in Shimane Prefecture, establishing a remote work style with Tokyo.

This exhibition will feature original mechanical design drawings and related materials from his representative work, "Cowboy Bebop," the first series for which he was fully responsible for the mechanical design, as well as from works such as Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's "Mobile Suit Gundam the Origin" and "Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island," which are being showcased in a concurrent solo exhibition. The exhibit will introduce many of his works that have garnered attention both domestically and internationally.
