In celebration of the upcoming Expo Osaka 2025, the Portuguese Cultural Center in Tokyo, in collaboration with Kuma Kengo & Associates, presents the exhibition "Kengo Kuma - Portugal Pavilion - OceanScapes". The exhibition will be held at the Portuguese Embassy in Tokyo from April 1 to 18, 2025. This exhibition offers visitors an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the Portugal Pavilion for Expo Osaka 2025, highlighting the distinctive architectural vision of Kengo Kuma. Drawing inspiration from the fluidity and movement of the ocean, the architect has designed a dynamic, undulating façade that embodies Portugal's deep maritime heritage. Visitors will gain a closer understanding of the design process through a collection of photographs, technical drawings, and detailed models that trace the architectural evolution of the pavilion. The exhibition also provides the opportunity to explore material samples, as well as furniture and design elements that will shape the pavilion's interior.
