Kazuki Takakura "Mechareal"

Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Kazuki Takakura
This exhibition will present the work of Kazuki Takakura, an artist from Yamanashi Prefecture, in the museum's interior space, Art Park, and in a virtual space. The title was coined by Takakura to refer to the trend of "mechanism” when surrealism emerged in Japan. Takakura's starting point in creating this exhibition was his appreciation of the work of Hisahito Yonekura (1905-1994), a painter from Yamanashi Prefecture who was active from the dawn of the development of Surrealism in Japan.

In this exhibition, Takakura attempts to reconcile different worlds: machine and nature, metaverse and the real world, AI and human, and rational and irrational.

During the exhibition, visitors can enjoy a virtual space experience using VR goggles in the museum's art library.

Venue: Gallery Echo (museum entrance), Art Park
