Kamoi Rei: Staring at Life and Death

Kushiro Art Museum, Hokkaido
Finished

Artists

Rei Kamoi
Rei Kamoi (1928-1985) was a painter dedicated to exploring the theme of "What is human?" by portraying the darkness and frailties of the human heart. Through introspection, Kamoi expressed feelings of loneliness and suffering in the art. Nearly 40 years after Kamoi's death, these works still resonate with people across generations. This exhibition showcases Kamoi's artistic world with approximately 70 pieces, including the final works.
