Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present a group show titled “Kamiwatashi,” featuring works by both deceased and living Japanese artists.
This exhibition will feature works depicting “wind” or the sensation of “wind” in the paintings. The paintings depicting trees, water surfaces, hair, clothes, and other objects that sway when the wind blows, convey not only the “wind” itself, but also some kind of presence.
The westerly wind around the tenth month of the lunar calendar is called “kamiwatashi,” meaning the wind that blows to send the gods on their way to Izumo when they come to visit the gods. This coincides with the time of the exhibition, and we have chosen it as the title of this exhibition.
