Japanese Wooden Chairs that Changed the World - Hiroshima

Matsuya Design Gallery
Finished
In the Design Gallery 1953 on the 7th floor of Ginza Matsuya, hosted by the Japan Design Committee, the exhibition "Japanese Wooden Chairs that Changed the World - Hiroshima " will be held.

Hiroshima was born in 2008 through the collaboration between product designer Naoto Fukasawa and Maruni Wood Industry, a manufacturer located in Hiroshima Prefecture. Leveraging the manufacturer's meticulous craftsmanship that has continued since its founding in 1928 under the motto of "industrializing craftsmanship," Hiroshima embodies the warmth and purity of traditional craftsmanship. It has gained attention worldwide, being used in thousands at Apple headquarters and adopted for the G7 Hiroshima Summit.

This exhibition will introduce Hiroshima, which continues to expand globally, through the display of actual-size models, parts, and photographs of Maruni Wood Industry's manufacturing process.
