This volume, the first of 2025, will bring together a total of 563 lots. In addition to many works by Japan's greatest masters such as Ito Jakuchu, Maruyama Okyo, Sakai Hoitsu, Hishida Shunso, and Hayami Gyoshu, the lineup is diverse including calligraphy of haiku poets and historical figures such as Yosa Buson, Saigo Nanshu, Fukuzawa Yukichi, and Mishima Yukio, as well as works by artists who have made their mark on the history of Western-style painting in Japan such as Kumagai Morikazu, Foujita Tsuguharu, Nakagawa Kazumasa, and Kazuki Yasuo, and last but not least, Saito Kiyoshi, known for his nostalgic “Winter in Aizu” series. In addition, the special feature will introduce Maeda Josaku, one of the leading artists in postwar Japanese abstract painting, through his works and materials.

On the new site, we have enlarged the image sizes and further enriched the artwork information to make it easier than ever to check the condition of each piece. We have also improved the search function to smoothly find your desired artists and works, transforming it into a more comfortable auction platform.
