Illustration: The Drawings of Mucha and Art Nouveau

Sakai Alphonse Mucha Museum (Sakai City Cultural Hall)
Finished

Artists

Alphonse Mucha
Throughout his lifetime, Alphonse Mucha's illustrations and artwork were featured in over 250 books and magazines. His debut as a painter came from his work in illustrations. Even before gaining fame as a poster artist in Paris, he earned a living by creating illustrations for books and magazines, and he continued to do so even after becoming a successful painter.

This exhibition introduces books that Mucha worked on, from illustrations to bookbinding, as well as beautiful illustrated books of the Art Nouveau movement from the same era. Additionally, major works from Mucha's later years and related illustration pieces will be showcased.
