Artists

Ikuo Inada
Ikuo Inada (born 1986, Hyogo) completed his doctorate in the area of sculpture at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 2015, and has been working as a sculptor ever since. Since his student days, he has consistently used human figures as motifs in his work, and these figures are wrapped in items used in private spaces, such as hoodies, sweatshirts, duvets and pillows. In this way, they express a personal and universal view of the world that transcends attributes such as nationality, gender and age. The colourless sculptures are rendered only in shadows created by the intensity of the carving, while the soft flow and creases of the fabric show the influence of Renaissance sculpture.
In addition to approximately five new works, the exhibition will also feature drawings that serve as blueprints.
