Hitoshi Komatsu
Hitoshi Komatsu (1902-1989) who went naturally while running self-sufficient life in Kyoto, Ohara, and opened up original image boundary in postwar black-and-white drawing expression. We are born in Oishida-machi, Yamagata in 1902 (Meiji 35) and we want to be painter at the age of 18 and go to Tokyo. We learned at Kawabata image school and the fourth picture in Japanese style original association exhibition of 1924 (Taisho 13) (country exhibition) moved to Kyoto triggered by first, being selected in the next year and studied under Bakusen Tsuchida. It was Imperial Academy's art exhibition and hospital exhibition and repeated being selected after the country exhibition dissolution and was based in Ohara from 1927 (Showa 2) and, other than nature in the four seasons of Ohara, continued describing familiar motif such as creature or plant and scenery of each place. In addition, Komatsu explored black-and-white drawing expression by thorough realism from the early days of the Showa era and showed new expression of Japanese painting by big-screen repeated cultivation by powerful monochrome painting in India ink almost masterpiece from the after mid-1950s. It is Hitoshi Komatsu called "excellent artist person" from posture to work on looks and drawing. In this exhibition, we introduce the world described through look of "excellent artist person" from holding of one collector charmed by isolated painter, Hitoshi Komatsu.
