Hiroto Kitagawa
Hiroto Kitagawa, born in 1967 in Shiga Prefecture, graduated from Kanazawa College of Art and spent 14 years in Carrara, Italy. There, he learned Italian sculptural techniques, particularly in terracotta (a low-temperature clay fired at around 800°C), and incorporated elements from anime and subcultures into his work. After returning to Japan in 2005, he began creating contemporary representations of youth with a fashion sense. Since around 2013, he has focused on exploring skin texture, color depth, and strength, using glazes and firing at 1200°C. He is currently producing figurative sculptures using advanced ceramics.

This exhibition will feature about 20 pieces, including new works such as life-size sculptures of combat-themed women and smaller pieces, as well as works incorporating new techniques to imprint various images onto molds.
