Hiromitsu Kuroo, Tadasuke Jinno
Modern society has seen remarkable technological advancements, and AI has become an indispensable tool, particularly in the fields of creativity and art. Within this context, we introduce two contemporary artists under the theme "primitive," which might seem to run counter to this trend.

The first artist is Hiromitsu Kuroo. He incorporates Japanese uniqueness into his art through his Folded Painting series, where he folds canvases like origami. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he energetically presented a series of Primitive collages called Bleach Painting, characterized by their raw and stripped-down aesthetic. This series is heavily influenced by Native American murals, with a strong connection between the murals created under the harsh conditions of the past—such as intense sunlight and interactions with animals—and the restricted lifestyle experienced during the pandemic.

The second artist is Tadasuke Jinno, the director of Koku Contemporary Art Gallery and the curator of this exhibition. His work is notable for constantly challenging the viewer's perception. His mesh paintings, where the appearance changes depending on the distance and angle from which they are viewed, and his experiential installations, where viewers become part of the artwork by touching it, are examples of this. While his style can be described as simple, analog interactive art, it prompts viewers to question their senses, ultimately guiding them to a new perception and helping them reclaim their inherent, primitive senses.
