The Osaka Museum of History will host Hasui Kawase: Views of Travel and Nostalgia from October 5 to December 2, 2024. This marks the first major exhibition in Osaka in ten years. Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) was a key woodblock print artist known for capturing Japan’s changing landscapes. Kawase traveled the country, depicting seasonal scenes and collaborating with artisans to create the Shin-hanga style. The exhibition will feature around 150 works, presenting Hasui’s poetic expression of nature and time.
