Our hands. They’re our unsung heroes. They’re our companions, our partners, and they are an important tool in our day-to-day lives. They are an essential part of ourselves, helping us without fail from our birth to our very last breath. Miyagi-based Sculptor Ami Yoshida has always been examining how to bring out pioneering ways of expressing the human body’s beauty through her sculptures.
This time, she channels the emotion and willpower of what our hands are in fine detail through an array of new sculpture works she will showcase in this exhibition. Capturing the nature and realness of the human body, Yoshida sheds the spotlight on the everyday gestures that our hands express.
