Guerrilla Girls
Reinterpreting the “'F' Word: Feminism” The Guerrilla Girls, formed in New York City in 1985 under the motto, have been comprised of more than 55 anonymous members to date. Using pseudonyms and wearing gorilla masks in public, they intervene in the public sphere with a mix of fact, irony, humor, and high-impact visuals. They attempt to subvert the narrative of subjectivity by exposing not only political and cultural corruption but also gender and ethnic prejudice in their work.
