Gaya

Kyushu National Museum
Finished
Gaya is the general name for the countries that emerged in south-central Korea between the 4th and 6th centuries. The Gaya states, which prospered with iron and were adorned with gold, had a variety of influences on Japan during the Kofun period. Based on the latest research findings, this exhibition traces the history of the rise and fall of the Gayas, beginning with Benhan, the predecessor of the Gayas, and ending with the fall of the Great Gayas in 562.

The exhibition also focuses on the culture and technology brought to the Japanese archipelago by the "migrants" from various regions, including Gaya, and examines the formation process of Japanese culture through excavated artifacts.
