Fusako Kuramochi
An exhibition dedicated to Fusako Kuramochi, a distinguished manga artist known for the continuous depiction of love stories, will be held at the Kitakyushu Manga Museum in the summer of 2024. Kuramochi, who gained prominence in the 1970s and 80s as a leading artist for Betsuma (Bessatsu Margaret) magazine, is celebrated for a unique compositional style and delicate psychological portrayals that have influenced many other manga artists. Marking the 50th anniversary since debuting in 2022, this exhibition will feature original artwork from Kuramochi's major works, showcasing an artistic evolution from early creations to the latest pieces.
