An exhibition tracing the history of NTV's "Friday Road Show" and exploring the charm of Studio Ghibli's films will be held at the Warehouse Terada (B&C Hall, E Hall) from June 29 to September 24 and at the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design from October 7 to January 28, 2024.
The "Friday Road Show," a program broadcasting movies on Friday night, began in 1985. The following year, "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" (1984, directed by Hayao Miyazaki) was broadcast for the first time. Since then, the films of Studio Ghibli have been featured more than 200 times, and each broadcast has increased its popularity.
Featuring "The World of Ohm" and "Ghibli's Phantom Lighthouse" installations, the exhibition will explore the charm of the films through the memories and records of each era in which they were broadcast and will bring to light the timelessness and universality of Studio Ghibli's works.
