Fossil Hunters - Dinosaurs of the Gobi Desert and the Great Beasts of the Himalayas

The Niigata Bandaijima Art Museum
Finished
A "fossil hunter" refers to a challenger rich in curiosity and exceptional in action, who excavates and studies valuable fossils. About 100 years ago in 1922, Roy Chapman Andrews (1884-1960) of the American Museum of Natural History discovered numerous valuable fossils in the Gobi Desert, making significant contributions to the advancement of paleontology.

In this exhibition, in commemoration of this, renowned "fossil hunters" (i.e., paleontologists) will introduce the research results of dinosaurs and large mammals excavated in the Gobi Desert and the Himalayas. Additionally, the latest theories on the evolution of mammals during the Ice Age will be presented, elucidating the history of biological evolution influenced by the grand environmental changes of the Earth.
