"/// For You" is an exhibition by Shu Ogasawara, Haruka Oka, Takuya Kumagai, Nobuhiro Hanaoka, and Yuto Yonemura.
Three of the participating artists in this exhibition, Ogasawara, Kumagai, and Yonemura, have been examining "sculpture" from their respective perspectives. Having held two exhibitions before, they plan to continue organizing exhibitions and projects in the future, involving various artists. In addition to these three, the exhibition also features Hanaoka, a sculptor based in Kyoto, and Oka, a photographer. Furthermore, Yonemura is responsible for the planning and spatial configuration of the exhibition, which will be held not only at the Neutral but also throughout the entire Horikawa Shinkultur Building, including the SLow Page Café operated by Ogaki Shoten.
Four of the artists (except for Oka) primarily focus on creating sculptural works. While their motifs vary, their works are based on representational sculpture and often involve visualizing the production process or creating pieces accompanied by introspective personal narratives. However, the materials and techniques used by each artist, such as stone, wood, expanded polystyrene, and 3D printing, result in differences in the time required for production. In structuring this exhibition, attention was drawn to the "scale" among these artists that emerged as a difference. The differences in materials, techniques, and exhibition formats may reflect the differences in the scale directed toward the "someone" each artist imagines. In response to this interest in the differences in scale, the exhibition will feature portraits of the artists taken by photographer Haruka Oka, alongside their works. This approach aims to present the artists themselves, serving as an attempt to establish the scale of the viewer's gaze beyond the artwork, toward the viewer's scale.
