Expression Workshop Vol. 8 - Photographer Hajime Watanable x Noh Performer Manjiro Tatsumi "Facing the Mask"

In collaboration with the Expression Workshop and the creative industry magazines "Commercial Photo" and "Print Magazine," this exhibition presents practical examples of both industries joining hands and co-creating new value.
Highlighted in this collaboration are the fashion photographer Hajime Watanabe and Noh performer Manjiro Tatsumi. They conducted a photo session themed around the fusion of Noh, a traditional Japanese performing art, and creativity. The session was further transformed into artwork using the technical expertise of the Expression Workshop. Reports on the artwork creation, from different perspectives, will be featured in the February issues of both magazines, and the completed pieces can be viewed directly at the venue.
The title "Facing the Mask" carries four meanings. It signifies the passion of the creative and printing industries facing each other and striving for excellence together. It captures the sacred moment when the Noh performer faces the Noh mask. It represents the photo session where Watanabe and Tatsumi faced each other. Lastly, it symbolizes the experience of visitors facing the photographic artwork of the Noh mask. All these aspects converge in a single space.
On the 1st floor's "Question Cafe," banners will be displayed, and a special menu related to this project will be offered.
