Eiko Terasaki
In 1941, Eiko Terasaki, who was born in Manchuria, moved with her family to Hosokura, where she worked as a store assistant in the family business. When the closure of the mine was announced, Terasaki picked up her camera and began documenting the event. She took photographs of the town, its people, children, and the animals that lived there until the mine closed, and after the mine closed, he painstakingly photographed the disappearing lives of the people and the process of the place being buried in the grass, leaving behind approximately 11,000 negatives.

This exhibition will focus on the photo book of the same title published based on the negatives of Eiko Terasaki, who passed away in 2016 at the age of 75 without printing her photographs, along with unpublished works, photographic notes, letters, and haiku and tanka poems.
