Artists

Eiko Ishioka
Eiko Ishioka (1938–2012) is once again garnering attention both domestically and internationally, ten years after her passing. A designer of global acclaim, she transcended genres and borders, making her mark in advertising, theater, film, and more.

This exhibition will showcase over 400 works, including sensational posters, commercials, and artwork, as well as sketches, focusing on her work from the 1960s to the 1980s when she was based in Tokyo.

For a creator, it is vital to cultivate "the power of one's true self"—to refine the "I." With this belief, Ishioka embarked on a journey of creation, producing groundbreaking visuals while collaborating with top figures in various fields, including photography, film, and illustration.

The exhibition delves into the core of Eiko Ishioka's creative vision: the "I." Experience the enduring vitality of her designs, still radiating energy, and hear her words that transcend time. This is not a "retrospective"; Eiko Ishioka is here, present to inspire you today.
