Dan Isomura
Dan Isomura's activities have expanded beyond art into the realm of social action, including a 2019 ACC Fellowship residency in New York, participation in the Asia Art Biennial (Taipei) in 2021, and an appearance on stage at TEDxUTokyo 2023 in 2023. He has been active not only in the field of art but also in the field of social action.
Dan Isomura has traveled to various regions in Japan and abroad to conduct research and comparisons on the conditions of people and their cultures, which change depending on the era and society in which they live and has engaged in various expressive activities such as painting, sculpture, video installation, and sometimes performance.
Isomura's works, which evoke a variety of references such as queer culture, religious expression, and the transition of not only human beings but also biodiversity on the earth, question the uniformity that can be latent in any society.
