The Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords aims to cultivate contemporary swordsmiths and the public exhibition of their techniques as one of its missions. It hosts the annual "Contemporary Swordsmith Exhibition," where swordsmiths compete and showcase their achievements in categories, including blade forging, polishing, blade carving, engraving, white scabbards, sword fittings, handle-making, and silverwork.
