Arata Isozaki
Renowned architect Arata Isozaki, a pioneer of postmodern architecture, passed away in December 2022. Making significant contributions to domestic and international architecture, Isozaki curated exhibitions worldwide and actively participated in various fields, including philosophy, art, design, cultural theory, and criticism. Starting in the 1970s, pursued printmaking, creating over 300 works. The Reduction series, introduced in 1983, reflects motifs from architectural projects, capturing the moment of architectural creation. The Collection Exhibition III commemorates Isozaki, featuring 12 newly acquired pieces from the Reduction series added in 2023, along with other collection pieces related to architecture, including the representation of Western-style architecture in kaika-e, paintings influenced by Western artistic styles.
