The Sanno Art Museum will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2024. To mark this occasion, the museum will hold these collection chronicles.

This exhibition features the same title as the opening exhibition held 15 years ago. It will showcase a selection of works from the museum’s collection, including newly acquired pieces by the key artists of our collection: Tsuguharu Foujita, Yuzo Saeki, and Takanori Oguiss.

Although they each arrived in Paris at different times, all three artists—Foujita, Saeki, and Oguiss—graduated from Tokyo Fine Arts School (now Tokyo University of the Arts) and developed their unique styles while working in Paris. This exhibition, spread over three floors, displays work by each artist on a separate floor, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of their lives and the evolution of their artistic styles. As visitors progress through the exhibition, they can experience the distinct worlds of these three artists and explore their mutual relationships and interactions with their contemporaries.
