KOTARO NUKAGA (Roppongi) is pleased to present ‘Quality of Life’, the first solo exhibition in Japan by American artist Beverly Fishman, on view from November 16 (Sat), 2024, to January 25 (Sat), 2025.

Born in 1955, Fishman has spent over two decades expressing the themes of illness and cure, and their associated political and business implications through an abstract visual language. The title of the exhibition, ‘Quality of Life’ reflects contemporary society’s focus on individual autonomy, challenges of an aging population, and recent wellness trends influenced by Eastern medicine philosophy. Through this exhibition, Fishman poetically and insightfully questions what the quality of life means for modern Japanese society and the systems surrounding it.

We hope this exhibition becomes an opportunity for each viewer to deeply contemplate what “quality of life” means to them. We warmly invite you to experience these thought-provoking works firsthand.
