Ayaka Oishi
Ayaka Oishi is an artist who creates installation works with colored cloth. After studying dyeing and weaving in Kyoto, she is currently based in Hiroshima.

This exhibition deals with the ambiguity of cloth. The artist presents works that move back and forth between the front and back, movement and stillness, flatness and solidity, and other contradictory characteristics of cloth. Cloth is unstable as a support material because it can be shaken by the wind, and wrinkled, and the dyed image can be changed. As if playing with such "awkwardness," Ayaka Oishi tries to retain the sensation of the fluctuation and movement of the flat surface by dyeing from both sides and daring to leave traces of color transfer.
