Arts & Crafts and Design: From William Morris to Frank Lloyd Wright

Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art
Finished
In the 19th century, William Morris and colleagues in England, rebelling against the dehumanizing effects of rapid industrialization, spearheaded the Arts and Crafts Movement. This movement, later influencing the world, particularly in the United States, emphasized a return to medieval craftsmanship. The exhibition showcases around 140 pieces, including textiles, furniture, and jewelry, reflecting the movement's philosophy of enriching life through excellent design and craftsmanship.
