KOKI ARTS is pleased to present Set Free, a solo exhibition by Akiko Mashima. Marking her sixth solo show with the gallery, this exhibition will feature twelve new small-scale works.
Sculptor Akiko Mashima has been working with wood for nearly 50 years, with a sustained interest in the spatial presence and volume created through form. She explores the flow and rhythm that emerge from the thickness and structural shifts of the wood, delving into the world shaped by these elements. In her most recent works, Mashima revisits her long-standing medium with renewed perspective, embracing a more intimate scale while pushing the boundaries of her formal vocabulary.
