Maho Kubota Gallery is pleased to present "Thinking of the Yesterday's Sky," a solo exhibition by Aki Inomata. The exhibition will begin on Friday, August 25, and run irregularly through Saturday, September 16.
"Thinking of the Yesterday's Sky" recreates the sky pattern of the previous day in a glass filled with water. It is an ongoing project that the artist began in 2020 and was realized after developing the technology to 3D print liquids on liquids.
The work was inspired by the time the artist spent looking at the sky from the window in her room while the restrictions of movement during the pandemic reinforced the idea that “today will not be the same as yesterday.” In this exhibition, visitors will be able to see yesterday's sky in a glass placed on a table, as well as video and photographic works that record the appearance of the glass.
