Artists

Akemi Matsunami
Akemi Matsunami, a renowned manga artist known for "Junjo Crazy Fruits," led the new wave of 1980s shoujo manga with a delicate yet pop art style. From 1989 to 1991, Matsunami also created cover illustrations for Shueisha's "Bouquet" magazine. In 2023, Kawade Shobo Shinsha published a special book and a collection of previously uncollected works by the artist. A commemorative exhibition of original artwork, featuring 53 pieces, will now be held at the Kitakyushu Manga Museum. The exhibition includes exclusive merchandise and a signing event with Matsunami on June 30.
