Artists

Hiroshige Utagawa
Hiroshige Utagawa gained high acclaim for establishing the genres of landscape and bird-and-flower paintings in the world of ukiyo-e woodblock prints alongside Hokusai. While Utagawa boasts widespread recognition and popularity as a nationally renowned ukiyo-e artist, there hasn't been a large-scale and comprehensive exhibition of his works in recent years. Therefore, this exhibition aims to provide a comprehensive overview of his artistic career from his early years to his later years, reaffirming the excellence of Utagawa's works while also introducing lesser-known yet captivating pieces, reconstructing a total image of Hiroshige Utagawa.
