Kiyoshi Nakajima (b. 1943), known for his "Children's Art" depicting children evoking nostalgia amidst the changing seasons, celebrates 50 years in the world of art. Nakajima has turned his focus to a new theme, "Women's Portraits," observing the strength and beauty of women who live positively in the Reiwa era. Through bold compositions and Japan's four seasons as a backdrop, he vividly depicts these women who, in the worlds of traditional culture and entertainment, create new cultures with flexible ideas. They are portrayed as the "Radiance of a Moment" in life.

This exhibition marks Nakajima's first solo exhibition in nearly 20 years since the "Kiyoshi Nakajima Paints Misuzu Kaneko's Gaze" exhibition held in 2003.

In this exhibition, viewers will have the opportunity to revisit Nakajima's iconic "Children's Art," explore his new theme of "Women's Portraits," and witness his latest work, "Sakata Maiko," created exclusively for the Sakata venue. A total of about 90 pieces will showcase Nakajima's artistic journey. Additionally, you can view "Women's Portraits" by young and mid-career artists that art historian Yuji Yamashita, a professor at Meiji Gakuin University, has been paying attention to.
