In the first semester, third-year students in the Department of Crafts take a joint "Comprehensive Exercise in Crafts". Each student researches and creates freely on a common theme to cultivate the "ability to think" necessary for autonomous production and to produce works using materials and techniques that straddle not only their own field but also the fields of metal carving, metal forging, metal casting, lacquerware (lacquer and woodwork), ceramics (pottery, porcelain, glass art), and textile dyeing. The common theme for this year is "Crafts".
