Artists

Takamasa Yosizaka
This exhibition is a retrospective of Takamasa Yosizaka (1917-1980), an architect who was a pupil of Le Corbusier and imported to Japan the idea of modernism in architecture. Well known for his design of Inter-University Seminar House, Japan Pavilion La Biennale do Venezia, Athénée Français, and Gotsu City Hall, to name a few, he always proposed a type of architecture that challenged society by his expression of using concrete in the way of clay figures. This exhibition presents the trajectory of Yosizaka's thoughts and activities through archival materials such as his words, sketches, architectural drawings, building models, photos, and videos.
