Yazaki Chiyoji
Yokosuka City has established an "Art Acquisition Fund" to enhance the collection of the Yokosuka Museum of Art. This Fund will accumulate donations from everyone and will be used to purchase new artworks.
The first work purchased is "Garden in Autumn" (1900) by Chiyoji Yazaki (1872-1947), a Yokosuka native.
In addition to displaying "Garden in Autumn", this exhibition commemorates the 150th anniversary of Yazaki's birth with approximately 30 of his works.
We hope you will enjoy viewing the many works that Yazaki painted while traveling not only in Japan but also around the world.
