This exhibition, 118th solo exhibition to be held at Art Gallery M84, will feature the work of Jean-Eugène Atget. At the age of 41, Atget left behind approximately 8,000 photographs taken over a period of 30 years, capturing images of Parisian architecture and interior furnishings from around the 20th century that have been lost to time. Atget did not take photographs according to his own feelings; he had purchasers such as the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris, and he took photographs systematically with a specific theme in mind. The exhibition "Surrealism II" will feature approximately 35 photographs, including 10 extremely rare vintage prints that Eugène Atget printed himself, as well as prints made from glass dry plates maintained by the French state. There is also a rare print of Atget himself in the center of the print.
