2022 has marked a new direction for Hewett as an artist after reflecting on the frailty of human existence and the brevity of each individual life.
This reflection resulted in a new optimism in Hewett’s new series ‘Life’. This series is focused on the resiliency of Life on earth not as a separate species, but as a larger ecosystem that is robust and full of energy and virality. The ‘Life’ series explores these themes in bright colors and bold shapes reminiscent of things we know and hinting at a future full of possibility.
